Radiothon for Kids

Children’s Hospital and 107.7 The Bone rock out together to raise funds

January 17, 2008

Last year’s hugely successful Radiothon for Kids raised more than $395,000 for Children’s. Over 300 volunteers answered donation calls, and approximately 30 children, parents, and medical staff were interviewed live, on air. Local businesses such as Blockbuster, Round Table Pizza, Cresco Equipment Rentals, Kohl's and Best Buy came out in force to volunteer at the phones.

theBonelogoYou can tune in to hear parents like Britt Van Giesen, who spoke on air last year about his daughter’s ongoing struggle with Rett syndrome, a childhood neurodevelopmental disorder. You can meet medical staff like Dr. Ann Petru, medical director of the infectious disease department at Children's Hospital, who participated in the Radiothon last year in support of her patients.

Listen to Children’s patients and their families as they tell personal stories of courage and healing, and call our phone bank volunteers with your donation. The Bone will be broadcasting live from the Outpatient Center atrium from 6 am to 7 pm on Thursday and Friday, and on Saturday from 8 am to 5 pm. You are also welcome to stop by and visit during the show and meet your favorite on-air personalities.

Every dollar raised during the Radiothon will benefit children throughout Northern California who rely on the expert care provided at Children’s Hospital. The Radiothon is only possibly through the generous support of 107.7 The Bone, Foresters, the many businesses and individuals who sign up to volunteer, and of course, our many generous donors.
