Kat has been a CPS technician since 2007 and an instructor since 2008. She provides education and technical support to communities and CPST training opportunities. For her position with Alameda County, Kat provides education, trainings, networking opportunities and programming support for the Childhood Injury Prevention program and its partners.

Prior to joining the Alameda County Injury Prevention team, Kat worked as a Traffic Safety Specialist focusing on youth programming for the Kansas Traffic Safety Resource Office. She specialized in child passenger safety, seat belt usage, underage drinking and impaired driving and novice driving education. Kat has presented keynote speeches and breakout sessions at a wide variety of conferences ranging from youth conferences to EMSC, drivers' education and school resource officer conferences. In addition, she has presented on the national platform at the 2010 Kids in Motion Conference.
