The Kohl’s Cares for Kids volunteer program supports local programs that make a positive impact on the youngest members of our community. Kohl’s generously supports Children’s Hospital’s Injury Prevention Program through direct donations from the profits of in-store sales of special plush toys and children’s books.
“Children’s Hospital is one of the key beneficiaries of the Kohl’s Cares for Kids program,” explained Wendy Robertson, Kohl’s Department Store District 63 captain and Brentwood store manager. “The hospital’s mission benefits children’s health and we love supporting that important work. Kohl’s A-Team volunteer program is an additional way for our associates to connect to Children’s personally."
At the last Radiothon for Kids fundraising event a team of twenty Kohl’s associates staffed the phone bank for Children’s Hospital . And employees from each of Kohl’s district’s stores volunteered at the 2008 Workday Devil Mountain Run, another fundraising event which benefits Children’s.
In addition to donating these important volunteer hours, Kohl’s also directly donates $500 for every five associates volunteering three hours to Children’s—over and above their corporate support. “We are proud to help,” Wendy said enthusiastically. “I can think of nothing better for employee team building than doing something together to enrich our community. It is really satisfying and fun to get involved.”
