As the father of a 13-year-old daughter who has been treated in pediatric facilities across the country, Round Table Pizza President and COO Rob McCourt has a special reason for supporting Children’s Hospital. “The doctors at Children’s saved Aileen’s life,” says Rob. “Being there was an eye-opening experience. The combination of medical skill and a compassionate touch were mind-boggling.”

Rob soon learned that many other members of the Round Table Pizza family had benefited from the renowned quality of care offered at Children’s Hospital. After conversations with his colleagues about their experiences at the hospital, he decided to form the Round Table Family Charities.

In 2006, the year of its launch, Round Table Family Charities organized and hosted an invitational golf tournament at the Blackhawk Country Club in Contra Costa County. They raised $250,000 for Children’s Miracle Network (CMN), benefiting CHO and other West Coast CMN children’s hospitals. In the weeks leading up to the tournament, Round Table restaurants sold thousands of CMN balloons to the public, providing a way for just about everyone to show their support for pediatric healthcare.

“The support shown by everyone involved was inspirational,” Rob states. “Employees, franchises, business partners - everyone really came together for this cause.
