Honor/Memorial Gifts
Consider an honor or memorial gift to Children’s Hospital as a meaningful way to appreciate someone special. Recognize the accomplishment of a friend or family member with an honor gift. Plan a Fundraiser
Special events planned by community groups are a vital source of funding for Children's. If you are interested in hosting a fundraising event to benefit the hospital, you can review our tips for getting started and then fill out our fundraising event application.
Volunteer
There are two separate ways to volunteer, and they have very different requirements:
Special Events: As a Special Events volunteer, you become an integral part of the foundation’s efforts to raise needed funds to secure our mission, and you are free to volunteer as often, or as infrequently, as you have time for. If you would like to volunteer for a fundraising event, please sign up online. If you have questions, call us at (510) 428-3885 ext. 5227 or email Ana Morales.
Hospital Volunteer: If you would like to volunteer at the hospital, call the hospital's volunteer office at (510) 428-3471. Please be aware that volunteers must be 16 or older, in good general and mental health, have no criminal record, and be able to make a long-term commitment, including a weekly, scheduled shift. A minimum of one shift per week for at least six months of continuous service and a total minimum commitment of 100 hours is expected.
Gifts in Kind
An additional way to support Children’s Hospital is through the donation of toys and supplies for our patients, and toiletries for patient parents. Please read our instructions for scheduling your donation delivery, special holiday information, and a list of items that we cannot accept. Special Events Donations
If you are interested in donating a high-value item to an event auction, such as a gift certificate, piece of artwork, vacation home, signed memorabilia, etc, please email Ann Hein, Senior Events Coordinator, or call Ann at (510) 428-3885 ext. 4273.
Foundation Grants
Each year, Children's proudly receives significant support from local and national family, private, and community foundations. Foundation grants support many of Children's outstanding programs ranging from patient care to research to youth development and training as well as capital improvement projects. You can read about

Other Ways to Give
- Matching Gifts: Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions made by their employees. If your company is eligible, request a matching gift form from your employer, and send it completed and signed with your gift. The impact of your gift to the hospital may be doubled or possibly tripled!
- Identify us on your United Way, Independent Charities of America, or Combined Federal Campaign pledge card.
